I musulmani radicali dell'Uganda orientale hanno spruzzato acido sui loro familiari durante una discussione sulla loro conversione dall'Islam al cristianesimo e gli è stato detto: "Ti meriti la morte". La famiglia è sopravvissuta ma rimane in ospedale dove viene curata per le ustioni.

Ha continuato: "Quando ci siamo rifiutati di ritrattare la nostra fede in Gesù, mio padre, Arajabu, ha recitato alcuni versetti coranici, e dopo di che hanno iniziato a picchiarci con forza con bastoni come prescritto nel Corano, sostenendo che eravamo apostati. Poiché ciò non bastava, mio padre entrò nella stanza e raccolse una bottiglia di acido e cominciò a spruzzarla su di noi mentre il gruppo iniziava a gridare: 'Allah Akbar [Allah è più grande], meriti la morte', e poi ci rinnegò".

Le tre vittime inizialmente non si resero conto di essere state spruzzate con acido. "Ma mentre stavamo fuggendo per le nostre vite, abbiamo iniziato a sentire un forte prurito che è continuato fino a quando il dolore si è intensificato", ha detto Waiswa. "Un vicino cristiano nelle vicinanze ha chiamato il pastore, che è arrivato immediatamente e ci ha portato in ospedale a Mbale, ma nostra figlia è stata gravemente colpita ed è stata portata in un ospedale di Jinja".

Quattro giorni dopo, in un incidente separato, gli abitanti del villaggio musulmano radicale hanno attaccato un ex leader della moschea, identificato come Swaleh Mulongo del villaggio di Bugobi, per aver riposto la sua fede in Cristo dopo essere stato evangelizzato da un pastore a gennaio.

"Erano circa le 8 del .m quando quattro musulmani mi hanno fermato e hanno iniziato a farmi tante domande sul cristianesimo, ma non ho risposto", ha detto Mulongo. "Poi gli uomini hanno iniziato a picchiarmi con colpi e bastoni, ma grazie a Dio quando hanno visto alcune persone avvicinarsi, sono fuggiti via".

Mulongo ha subito profonde ferite alla testa e il polso è stato rotto.

Sospetti pastori Fulani hanno teso un'imboscata e rapito 46 cristiani e un numero imprecisato dei loro figli tre giorni dopo aver ucciso 32 civili in aree prevalentemente cristiane nello stato di Kaduna, nel nord della Nigeria, secondo i rapporti.

Nel secondo attacco a Kagoro, due soldati sono stati uccisi, si ritiene che una donna sia stata rapita e circa 200 case, e 32 negozi sono stati distrutti oltre a tutte le uccisioni nelle aree di Tsonje, Agban, Katanga e Kadarko di Kagoro.

Almeno altri sette sono rimasti feriti.

According to Open Doors USA’s 2022 World Watch List report, at least 4,650 Christians were killed between Oct. 1, 2020, and Sept. 30, 2021, up from 3,530 the previous year, and more than 2,500 Christians were kidnapped, up from 990 a year earlier.
